NOT SO PERFECT

Filters

When we think of Handloom, we think of beautiful products woven and crafted by the artisans of our country. Owning one not only makes us happy but also proud to be able to support the rich textiles of India and the traditional art which has been carried on for generations.

We are a small homegrown brand based out of Dehradun, Uttarakhand and I am not a professional designer. Making drawings for the weavers sitting in remote villages of India and explaining them for months on video call is never EASY. Our artisans face many challenges while making these pieces, we bear a lot of losses to get that one final beauty which can be called 'PERFECT'. And the moment we receive our collection at our door step, all our weavers desperately wait for is the appreciation for their magical work. People want to own a handloom product but they often forget the extensive process involved and the challenges our artisans go through in making these beautiful pieces. we often forget that "HANDLOOM" is meant to have visible proof of the process in making it and that is what makes it so special but sadly they are acknowledged as "DEFECTED" AND "DAMAGED".

Unfortunately, with the current market situation the mass has started choosing powerloom over handloom as its more affordable, durable, low maintenance and "FLAWLESS". Not every product can be "perfect " so what happens to them, where do they end? We call them the SPECIAL ones..... the REAL ones.... the 'NOT SO PERFECT' ones.... For many it is just another page for "defected" or  "damaged" products but for people like me : 'IT'S WHERE THE REAL ART IS'

Happy Handloom :)
